Ways we can helpSupport that starts with you
A highly personalised service for neurodivergent people aged sixteen and over who want to understand themselves more deeply and find practical ways forward that fit their life
Together, we explore your experiences, patterns, strengths and needs, with space to reflect on what matters most to you.
You do not need a formal diagnosis to access our service
-
A personalised process designed to help you better understand how you think, feel and experience the world through a neurodivergent lens.
Through three in-depth sessions, clinical reflection and a personalised written report, we bring together meaningful insights into your strengths, needs and everyday life. A follow-up session provides space to reflect and consider your next steps.
For some people, this process provides the clarity they were looking for. For those who would like further support, Making Sense in Practice offers the opportunity to continue working together through individual sessions.
-
Individual 60-minute sessions shaped around what matters most to you. These can be booked independently, including as personalised post-diagnostic support following an autism or ADHD diagnosis elsewhere.
You do not need to complete the Making Sense of You pathway first.
-
Personalised support for young people aged 16 or 17 and their families, exploring emotional wellbeing, communication, relationships, sensory needs and everyday life.
How Making Sense of You works
A thoughtful process with time to tell your story, understand the patterns and reflect on what comes next.
01
Start with a conversation
Tell us a little about yourself and what you would like to understand better.
02
Your story
We explore your experiences across three appointments, so you never feel rushed.
03
Your report
We bring everything together in a way that reflects you as a whole person, not simply through a diagnostic lens.
04
Time to reflect
We meet again to talk through your report and explore what it means for you moving forwards.
Why Making Sense?More than a diagnosis
We know how important a diagnosis can be. It can provide answers, validation and access to the right support. But it can also leave you wondering: what now?
Making Sense was created for what comes next, a compassionate space to understand your experiences in the context of your whole life, recognise why some things have been so difficult, see your strengths more clearly, and make sense of who you are and what you need.
It isn’t therapy, coaching or another diagnostic assessment.
Whilst we draw on our clinical and therapeutic skills, the focus here is not on deciding whether you meet diagnostic criteria. It is on understanding you.
Meet the founderMeet Hannah & the team
Making Sense was founded by Hannah Geary, a Registered Learning Disability Nurse with nineteen years’ clinical experience.
I’ve spent my career working alongside neurodivergent people and their families across the NHS, community and specialist services. I have specialist experience in autism spectrum disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, alongside lived experience of neurodivergence within my own life and family.
I’ve seen how difficult life can become when someone’s needs are not recognised or understood. People can spend years feeling that they are getting things wrong, having to try harder than everyone else, or being offered support that never quite fits. This can be incredibly isolating, confusing and frustrating.
I’ve also seen the difference it can make when someone finally feels heard and understood. It can change what they ask of themselves, and the support they feel able to ask for.
I wanted to create a service that was warm, open and straightforward.
A place where people feel genuinely listened to, where their experiences are taken seriously and where support is shaped around their individual needs.
That’s why I started Making Sense Neurodiversity.
I’ve brought together a small team of skilled practitioners who i’ve personally chosen for their experience, warmth and shared commitment to providing thoughtful, individualised support.
If you would like to know more about our practitioners, we are always happy to share their profiles so you can get a feel for who you’ll be working with.
